Between Homes
2026 Concept · Data Visualization · InterfaceBetween Homes is my final project, exploring the relationship between people and the homes they have lived in throughout their lives — the ways these places shape them and the emotional intensity they carry.
The project examines both geographical and emotional data, translating them into visual representations through route maps and emotional maps.
The project grew out of research into personal identity through places, transitions, and belonging. It began with my grandmother’s story: she immigrated from Argentina to Israel and lived in 22 different homes throughout her life.
I began by marking all of my grandmother’s home addresses on a map and connecting them chronologically, creating a visual route of her life.

The emotional layer draws on the visual similarity between address markers and tree rings.
Like tree rings marking years of life, each ring in the emotional map represents a home. Its thickness, distortion, movement, and sound are shaped by the emotional intensity connected to that home and its geographic location.
Together, these elements create a personal life route and emotional map unique to each individual.
Between Homes enables users to create personal analyses, route maps, and emotional maps by entering information about the homes they have lived in, their geographic locations, and the emotional intensity associated with each one.
All generated maps are stored in the platform’s archive.
The complete research, sketches, and development process were compiled into a single research book.
